Tim Cox
as Jared
Tim is a Melbourne based actor and musician. He played bass in local alt-rock band Shabon until their disbandment. He trained as an actor at the National Theatre Drama School before moving to LA where he worked on a number of short film projects including his own debut short, the award-winning Cosmic Rift.
Since returning to Melbourne he has been contributing to the local film scene where he can. He was drawn to this project for the timeless themes of the nostalgia for lost youth and forgotten friendships.

Jackson Cross
as Christian
Jackson is an excitable, passionate performer that has always loved sharing stories. He commenced his theatre journey studying at Federation University with the graduating company of 2022. Since graduating Jackson has found a passion in being a part of new works, participating in workshops and developmental projects, demonstrated performances in three new aussie developmental musical’s, 'The White Rose' by Oliver Thomson and Isabella Dymalovski, ‘Fresno’ by Jeremy Harland and Josh Connell and Greenroom Award Winning 'Blue to the Horizon' by Sarah Wynen. Jackson has spent last summer performing in the park with Melbourne Shakespeare Company.
This will be Jackson’s second film appearance following his performance in ‘Tales of Cantara Cabin,’ directed by Hamish Dobie and he is excited to share this wonderful piece of work in ‘An Unfortunate Engagement.’

Hamish Baker
Director
Hamish is the Writer and Director of this project. This is his first narrative short film, with his experience mainly being in directing documentaries and experimental shorts.
Outside of writing and directing, Hamish is interested in editing having done work on TVC’s, documentaries, music videos and short films including one shot on 16mm.

Cooper Bonetti
Producer
Cooper is an emerging producer for film and television in Melbourne. He has experience in a variety of production and post-production roles in the indie film scene, and has worked with local production companies and crewing agencies. This gives him a well-rounded technical and creative understanding of filmmaking to bring to the project.

Cooper is captured by the melancholy story of An Unfortunate Engagement and its unique tone and aesthetic, and he's eager to see it reach further audiences at festivals.

Wilson Wong
Cinematographer
Wilson is a recent Swinburne alumnus, an eager cinematographer and editor who has a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of the technical aspects of film and video.

Whether it’s working with a large team or a small crew, he thrives on the collaborative spirit of filmmaking and is committed to maintaining a positive set environment that transitions smoothly along the workflow pipeline.

Wilson has worked across a diverse range of media, including adverts, documentaries, and narrative short films, serving as both an editor and a cinematographer. This broad experience helps him to handle any creative request, ensuring each project’s vision is brought to life.

Joshua Fusco
Editor & Colourist
Joshua Fusco is a Melbourne-based editor specialising in drama. Known for his ability to empathise with narratives and characters, he collaborates closely with department heads to ensure a cohesive vision is consistent across the post-production pipeline. His strong connection to emotion and storytelling, along with constant communication with his creatives, allow him to craft each film to its fullest potential.

Hamish Dobie
Sound Designer
Hamish Dobie is an aspiring Sound Designer and Mixer. Having worked on a plethora of projects from short form advertisements to 360 surround sound, he has a passion for the intricate details of audio.
Hamish is looking forward to the details and purposeful notes needed for An Unfortunate Engagement in order to enhance the rift between the two protagonists. Alongside this project, Hamish has also worked on the Swinburne graduate documentary Watkins as both director and sound designer.
